Creating Seed Stacks by marking steel washers with text requires work.  It is possible for anyone to do, but this is a DYI project and may not be suitable for everyone.  Familiarity with hand tools and a workspace is recommended.  Notably a strong table like a bench or anvil.  It is possible to punch washers on a good floor but carpeting is not going to work well.  A flat, hard surface is highly recommended.  

The images showcased here were produced using the Cardinal M824 Die and a small press rather than a hammer.  Your results will vary based on your individual skills, commitment, and patience.

The M824 Die and the 6mm  (often referred to as 3mm) Punches are the tools required to punch the actual numbers and letters into the washers.  They are NOT included in the Basic Seed Stack Kits.  We do not sell the dies and punches together with the Seed Stack Kits because they are both a one time purchase.  Therefore it is unnecessary to offer the die and punches with each Seed Stack Kit.

Seed Stacks are designed using common, ubiquitous items like washers and bolts so are accessible to all levels of wealth.  Often times M8 x 24 washers and M8 x 60mm bolts & nuts can be found for free on old machinery or very cheap.
